INSURANCE AND REINSURANCE LITIGATION

The Firm has extensive experience in the judicial and extrajudicial representation of the insurance sector and some reinsurance companies in contractual and extracontractual processes derived from damage, life, civil liability, financial liability, D&O, transport, compliance and social security insurance. In this area we have a team of specialized lawyers.

ADMINISTRATIVE LITIGATION

The Firm handles administrative litigation arising from administrative contracts, processes of nullity of administrative acts and reestablishment of rights, processes of direct reparation and fiscal responsibility. We represent our clients in proceedings before the administrative contentious jurisdiction related to insurance law and oil matters.

Likewise, the firm has extensive experience in handling popular and group actions, both before the administrative and ordinary jurisdictions.

LITIGATION IN CIVIL LIABILITY AND COMMERCIAL MATTERS

The Firm has extensive experience in the judicial representation of real and service sector companies in contractual and non-contractual civil liability litigation in different commercial matters. In particular, we litigate in the area of telecommunications, hydrocarbons, financial law and commercial contracts such as supply, distribution, commercial agency, among others. In the development of this area we have a great trajectory in different types of processes such as ordinary, verbal, ownership and administrative litigation, in case they are processed before that jurisdiction. Likewise, we have represented our clients in cassation proceedings.

AIR AND MARITIME TRANSPORT LITIGATION

The Firm advises on matters related to concepts and claims in connection with the transportation of goods and passengers, general damages, collisions, accidents and marine casualties, salvage, maritime agency, ship and aircraft mortgages, pollution and formalities with the maritime and aeronautical authorities. This activity is carried out in close relationship and coordination with litigation and insurance, given its intimate and indispensable relationship with them.

ARBITRATION

The Firm has extensive experience in judicial proceedings before arbitration tribunals in Colombia, Singapore, Shanghai and London, representing national and international companies. We participate in arbitration in insurance and reinsurance matters, mainly, as well as in other commercial matters in the area of telecommunications and hydrocarbons, among others.

Additionally, partners Ricardo Vélez Ochoa and Armando Gutiérrez Villalba have participated on several occasions as arbitrators in arbitration tribunals of national and international importance.

The Firm provides advisory services in the areas of objections, policy analysis, evaluation of insurance programs and, in general, everything related to the insurance and reinsurance activity.

INSURANCE LITIGATION IN LABOR JURISDICTION

The firm has extensive experience and expertise in handling litigation and providing consulting services on issues related to social security and insurance law, such as, among others, the occurrence of claims covered by the General System of Professional Risks, the General Pension System and the respective coverage for these events provided by the social security insurance established by Law 100 of 1993. Likewise, we also represent in recovery actions in favor of the Administrators of Professional Risks, as well as litigate in labor proceedings in which the insurance companies are involved, especially.
